Ways To Naturally Boost Immunity

During the autumn months, it can feel as if getting sick is inevitable. But the truth is, by thinking ahead and prepping accordingly, there are a few things that you can do to stay healthy and get a leg up on your immune system. holistic health starts with proper nutrition. Here are a few ways you can make sure your diet is keeping your immune system strong:

  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help support the immune system. Make sure to eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables to get the most benefit.

  • Incorporate probiotic foods into your diet. Probiotics are live bacteria that are found in fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut. These live bacteria help to support the gut, which is where 70% of the immune system is located.

  • Limit sugar intake. Sugar has been shown to decrease immunity by depressing the activity of white blood cells. So, it’s best to limit your intake of sugary foods and drinks.

  • Get enough sleep. Sleep is important for overall health and well-being, but it’s also crucial for a strong immune system. When you don’t get enough sleep, your body produces fewer cytokines, which are proteins that help fight infection.

  • Exercise regularly. Exercise not only helps to improve overall health, but it can also help boost immunity. moderate exercise has been shown to increase the production of natural killer cells, which are white blood cells that help fight infection.

  • Reduce stress levels. Stress can have a negative impact on immunity by increasing the production of cortisol, a hormone that can suppress the immune system. So, it’s important to find ways to manage stress in your life. Try yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises.

  • Avoid tobacco and excessive alcohol: Both tobacco and alcohol can damage the immune system and make you more susceptible to illness. If you do smoke or drink, try to limit your consumption as much as possible.

By following these simple tips, you can help boost your immunity and fight off sickness this season.
